My name is Trudy and I live in the South West of England with my youngest daughter and our four beautiful cats, Lucy,  Sophie, Cairo and Tom and three lovely chickens. I have 2 sons and 2 daughters, all grown up now. I also have 2 beautiful grandsons, who I’d like to teach crafting to and a granddaughter due on 22sd December 2011

(Update on new baby graand daughter. She was born on the 15th December by c-section and weighed in at a very tiny 6lb 1 oz. And she is beautiful)

Why have I called this site The Craft Witch? because I’m affectionately known as Grotbags by my nephews.

Now that my “Mummy” days are behind me and I can concentrate on ME for a change, I have decided to write this blog about the things I like to do ie: crafts, sewing, knitting and other things craft related.

I mostly enjoy Quilting although I’m just a beginner, I started quilting 5 years ago when my eldest daughter announced that she was having her first baby. I thought it would be good to make baby a cot quilt as something for him to keep, so I gave it a go and just got hooked.

I’ve since made two more and am currently on my fourth.

I’m not saying that I’m a great quilter, (or crafter), but I enjoy it and really wish I had  discovered it sooner.

Other crafts and crafting things I like to do, including knitting, which I have just taken up again after a break of about 10 or so years, are card making, Christmas decorations and jewelery and I’m going to give other crafts a bash as well (“bash” could well be the right choice of words here!!).

Anyway I thought I’d try out a blog about my exploits in crafting, so follow on if you like and please do add comments and maybe the odd suggestion and advice.
